Working together with commercial companies
Whilst Film Tax Relief was introduced in 2007, the later reliefs (TV, Animation, Video Games, Theatre and Orchestra) were introduced from 2013 onwards and can be considered reasonably new and somewhat specialised.
For the Film, TV, Animation and Video Games Tax Reliefs which all require cultural certification, we are happy to support you through the BFI certification process if required.
We will review all the activities of the company to ensure that we determine all qualifying productions and qualifying costs. Working with your own accounting records and your end-of-year accounts, either prepared by the company directly or your accountant if you have one, we prepare all of the computations, ensuring that the claim is for the maximum allowable under the legislation. Once these have been prepared, we will either submit the claim within your Company Tax Return or an amendment to your Company Tax Return.
If HMRC ask any questions then we will answer these on your behalf.
Once HMRC has settled the claim, payments of tax credits are made directly to the company’s bank account and we will issue our invoice.
We will also assist with pre-production to ensure that maximum benefit is gained as well as provide specialist advice in the event that HMRC have opened an enquiry.
